Breakfast at Ryan Field

June 16, 2012

On Saturday morning, June 16, 2012, members of the Tucson Corvair Association took a casual cruise from Tucson to Ryan Field just west of town on Ajo Way. Six Corvairs made the trip with 17 club members and one guest in attendance. Those in attendance were John and Amy Young, Ken and Heidi Farr with great granddaughter Lydia, Allen and Marianne Elvick, Ron and Lynn Bloom, Vicki and Van Pershing, Lynn Marrs, Bill Maynard, Charlie and Sandy Evans with son Clayton, Ed Segertrom, Mike Lake, and guest, Chad Ritter.

After a great breakfast at Todd’s, John and Amy invited us to tour their hangers just a few hundred yards away. In one hanger they store their Technam P92 Echo DeLuxe and the other is used strictly for Corvair restoration and storage. The Young's have three Corvairs in their hanger: a 1961 700 coupe, a 1965 140hp Monza and a soon-to-be-finished 1966 Turbo Corsa convertible.

A special thanks to John and Amy for allowing the group to tour their home away from home.
