1968 Monza Coupe
Parker King

The project was basically a body
shell with almost all the parts included. The previous owner was in the
process of converting the 4-speed transmission to a Powerglide.
Fortunately not much progress was made so all of the clutch and shifter
parts were for the 4-speed hadn't been removed from the car. Click

February 2023: Interior
almost done. Black vinyl with cloth inserts were top stitched to
resemble the stock '68 interior complete with the chrome buttons from
the original seats. The door cards were covered in the same materials as
the seats and the '68 buttons and Monza emblems were added to make it
look more like "factory". |

Old school 15" Rally wheels will
be used. The wheels were painted gunmetal metallic to match the
strips. |

We went with a white with

Feb 2020: Some serious rust
issued were discovered that will need some attention. Sometime in the
past, the lower windshield edge sheet metal had been replaced by one made of
fiberglass. It was installed very poorly making a perfect place for rust
to breed. |

After the rust
was repaired and new steel piece was put into place, it looks at little
better!! |

Jan 2020: The engine was
freshened up with new rings, bearings and gaskets and seals. A new clutch
and a period-correct 4-speed transmission were added. |

October 2019: There had
been some rust on the car but the previous owner had properly repaired
much of it. the body itself was straight but there will be some work to
get the door gaps adjusted reasonably. |
